Los Angeles County Timeshare plans

|

Definition: Timeshare is the principal factor in the child support formula. The more time you are responsible for your child/children, the more resources it requires.

Common Timeshare Plans:

20%: every other weekend pick up from school to Sunday night and dinner visit from 3-7 p.m. midweek.

35%: Every other weekend and alternating weeks in the summer. This is a favorite of people living 50+ miles away.

40% 3 days on 4 days off (approximately 72 hours per week). Every Sunday through Tuesday.

50-50: Alternating 3 days on 4days off. One parent has 4 days 1 week and 3 days the next. 5-2, 2-5: My plan: Every Wednesday after school to Friday drop off at school and alternating weekends.

Effect: The more time you spend with your child the less money you have available for other things. Illustration: Dad is High Earner (Makes more than Mom) and has 20% time share. He will be paying mom substantially more support with a 20% rather than a 50% timeshare.
